Lao Arts & Culture Collective
Our Story
The Lao Arts and Culture Collective (LACC) was born out of a shared passion for preserving and promoting Lao cultural heritage. After a successful Lao culture camp held in 2024, we were overwhelmed with positive responses from families and participants who expressed a strong desire for more opportunities to engage with Lao culture in Minnesota, which is home to one of the largest populations of Lao Americans in the U.S.
Our founding members realized the importance of creating a space where Lao heritage could be celebrated, preserved, and shared year-round. This led to the formation of LACC as a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering cultural pride, empowering the next generation, and strengthening connections with the Lao community.

Our Roots, Our Future
Why Cultural Preservation is Important
“Our Roots, Our Future” embodies the connection between the traditions that shape us and the possibilities that lie ahead. This initiative is the cornerstone of our work at LACC, where cultural heritage is honored and cultivated as a source of strength, resilience, and identity. Our roots carry the stories, values, and customs that connect us to generations past while fostering pride and belonging in the present. Through these traditions, we bridge the gap between generations, ensuring that the sacrifices and wisdom of our ancestors continue to inspire and guide us.
Our heritage is not just about preservation—it’s about evolution. “Our Roots, Our Future” reflects the dynamic nature of culture, empowering the next generation to embrace and reinterpret their heritage in meaningful ways. By blending tradition with innovation, we create a vibrant future where Lao culture thrives, uniting the past with the promise of tomorrow. Together, we celebrate where we come from and where we are going.
