Gao Lee is a mission-driven entrepreneur and nonprofit professional whose work centers on building meaningful relationships, advancing equity, and uplifting underrepresented communities. A passionate advocate for mental health, youth empowerment, and the lived experiences of immigrant women, Gao brings a human-centered approach to everything she does.
Her cross-sector background spans state government, philanthropy, and the nonprofit arena, where she has cultivated deep expertise in human resources, operations, and grantmaking. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to fostering inclusive systems that value people, culture, and community voice.
In addition to her nonprofit work, Gao is the co-owner of Uprooted Coffee, a Twin Cities–based small business that celebrates Southeast Asian heritage by sourcing specialty coffee from across the region. Through Uprooted, she blends storytelling and entrepreneurship to bridge cultures, support farmers, and create a platform for cultural visibility.
