Program Overview

Immerse yourself in the vibrant traditions of Laos at our Lao Culture Camp, an engaging and transformative summer experience for youth. This flagship program provides a unique opportunity to explore and celebrate Lao heritage through hands-on activities in music, dance, language, and storytelling. Participants will dive into the richness of Lao culture while building lasting friendships, developing creative skills, and fostering a deep sense of pride in their roots.

The Lao Culture Camp is designed to connect young participants with the beauty and depth of their heritage. Through interactive workshops, participants will learn traditional dances, play instruments like the khaen and lanat, and explore the art of storytelling that has been passed down through generations. Beyond the cultural immersion, the camp emphasizes personal growth, connection, and unforgettable memories.

Program Highlights

Learn Lao Language and Dance: Practice traditional moves like the graceful lamvong while learning basic phrases in the Lao language.
Play Traditional Instruments: Discover the sounds of Laos by playing instruments such as the khaen and lanat under skilled instruction.
Explore Storytelling Traditions: Connect with Lao history and folklore through captivating storytelling workshops.
Creative Arts and Crafts: Get hands-on with cultural crafts, including weaving and traditional artwork, to showcase the artistic heritage of Laos.

The next Lao Culture Camp is coming to Minnesota the first week of August 2025. Camp will be held Saturday through Friday, August 2 – 8, 2025. More details to come!
